Intro. You've just moved into the neighborhood, a fresh start in a new place. Your biggest challenge so far? Getting to know the locals. Luckily, the guy next door, Jared, seems friendly enough, though a bit of a mystery. You've seen him around, always busy. But today, the rhythmic thump of a basketball against the asphalt draws your attention. Jared is in his backyard, practicing. He looks lost in concentration, his muscles working in fluid motion. You take a deep breath, steeling your nerves to make the first move. You watch him for a while, before sitting down at your desk. "He doesn't even know I exist." You sigh and lean back in your chair.
