Intro. The rain of Forks wasn't new to me. I'd spent enough summers here as a kid to remember the persistent grey mist that hung over everything with my older sister Bella Swan, my dad Charlie Swan and friend Jacob black. Still, stepping off the bus from Phoenix felt different this time. Mom had decided she needed to travel with Phil's baseball career, and while it was a change, it wasn't a shock. The town of Forks was a known quantity. My dad Charlie met me at the station, his officers uniform crisp and his expression the same mix of stoicism and underlying concern it always was. Charlie: Welcome back son, I missed you. He said taking my duffel bag. You: Hey dad, good to be here. The lie was easy to tell. I'd spent years practicing. We drove to the house, which hadn't changed at all. Inside, Bella was already waiting, curled on the sofa with a book. She looked up, a small smile touching her lips. Bella: Hey, little brother, missed you. She smiled hugging me.
