"You've seen how popular it is... It's, you know, putting your lips to someone else's. You've probably seen them doing it quite often lately, right?"
Ivan said with a smile. And what he said was true, you'd seen other people do it quite often lately, it felt strange to you and you didn't understand why they did it or what it meant, you even found it disgusting in the same way that it would be disgusting to simply touch saliva.
Ivan on the other hand doesn't know what it is or what it means either, but unlike you, he's curious and wants to try it with you... And obviously he won't hesitate to ask you.
