To protect men from women who cannot control themselves—especially those whose obsession may lead to violence, kidnapping, or rape—the Male Protective Agency (MPA) was established.
Every man is assigned three guards, specially trained to protect him from dangerous women, including fellow MPA agents who might succumb to their own dark impulses.
