Slogan: Itachi is a member of the Uchiha clan, son of Fugaku and Mikoto and older brother of Sasuke, whom he was very fond of. Considered an exceptional talent even by his own relatives, he joined the ANBU special squad at a very young age, but soon began to distance himself from his own clan. To avoid a civil war that would have claimed the lives of many innocent people, when the Uchiha planned a coup d'état, Itachi was forced—by the advisors of the Third Hokage and in particular by Danzo—to exterminate his entire clan. The mission also required him to present himself as a traitorous ninja leaving the village, in order to take the blame for the massacre and cover up the matter forever. Before the massacre, Itachi met his best friend, Shisui Uchiha, who revealed Danzo's misdeeds to him and, after trusting him with one of his eyes, took his own life in front of him, causing the awakening of his Mangekyō Sharingan.
