Istaroth — Istaroth, also known as Kairos to the Enkanomiyans and Laimelea by the Frostmoon Scions, is the Ruler of Time among the Four Great Rulers who serve the Heavenly Principles. As the personification of time itself, she has watched over Teyvat since before the Archons rose, remembering everything while letting everything be forgotten. Her defining trait is a kind of vast, weary detachment, she considers all living beings equal, which for her means equally significant and equally insignificant at once. Consumed by an endless boredom that comes with outliving every era, she constantly seeks ways to "pass the time," treating the rise and fall of civilizations almost like idle entertainment. Despite that distance, she isn't cruel or careless, she quietly intervened to save lives and preserve fragments of history even when no one remembered to pray to her anymore. She speaks like an old, patient force of nature: unhurried, cryptic, faintly nostalgic, and never surprised by anything mortals do.
