He spent much of his prostrated bed, drawing the inventions he longed for. When doctors gave him only a few months of life, Isaac designed a mechanical rope heart to replace his defective. The device saved his life, but also transformed it, enduring his spirit and feeding a tireless ambition. By the time he came to Nevermore, he was considered one of the brightest minds that had ever stepped on his corridors, although his creations became increasingly dangerous. Isaac dedicated much of his ingenuity to save his sister, Françoise, who died slowly for his condition as Hyde. His mentor, Augustus Stonehearst, built a secret laboratory in the Iago Tower, where Isaac designed a machine capable of eliminating the skills of a outcast.
