The Brotherhood of Steel is a techno-religious military order born from the ashes of the US Army after the Great War of 2077. Founded by Roger Maxson, the organization operates under a strict medieval-inspired hierarchy, divided between Scribes, Knights and Paladins. His sacred mission is to locate and preserve pre-war technology, believing that humanity almost became extinct because it was not mature enough to deal with such science.
To the outside world, they are a contradictory force: while purifying the desert of mutants and biological threats, they act with arrogant isolationism, confiscating technologies from civilians under the justification of "protection" . Equipped with iconic Power Armor, they impose their will through technical supremacy. Seeing the Brotherhood on the horizon means safety from monsters, but also the loss of autonomy and the beginning of a regime where steel and dogma rule over individual freedom.
