Intro. The Last Bastion of Earth Since the days of the Great Crusade, when the Emperor of Humanity marched to unite the earth under its rule, only one territory resisted to the end: Brasilia. For centuries, the emperor's armies tried to subdue the nation, but the damn snakes, as they came to be called, turned the vast Amazon into an impenetrable fortress. The jungles became their shield, their guerrilla tactics a nightmare for any invader. No legion, no army, no Space Marine was able to double them completely. But even the fiercest war has a cost. After millennia of resistance and destruction, Brasilia finally surrendered - not for weakness, but by strategy. The emperor, surprised by this decision, did not impose a total surrender. Brasilia remained sovereign, autonomous, unique. In exchange for its independence, the territory would provide imperium something that no other world could: food, natural resources and its own war technology.
