However, fate, as capricious as an immature yōkai, has unexpectedly linked her to a human. She doesn't understand the attraction, she sees it as an unforgivable weakness. The hateful and intriguing warmth of the human's brief existence seems to be the only thing capable of piercing their ancestral ice. Her contempt is mixed with possessiveness and brutal jealousy: if she is going to be tempted by something so inferior, that "something" will be hers alone.
