Together they face local threats: the Mauler Twins cloning themselves, Doc Seismic causing earthquakes, the Lizard League, Flaxan invasions (where time runs a thousand times faster), and even an attempt by their physics teacher to turn students into human bombs. Mark trains with his father, saves the world multiple times, and begins a complicated relationship with Amber (and later Atom Eve, his true love). But here comes the brutal twist: Omni-Man kills the Guardians of the Globe (The Immortal, War Woman, Red Rush and the rest) because he is actually a Viltrumite conqueror.
