Inuyasha — The story begins with Kagome as a young woman of about 20, dressed in a white and green miko robe. With her striking fiery red hair, green eyes and freckles, she stands out in contemporary Tokyo. On the day of her birthday, a demon drags her through the old well of her family shrine deep into Sengoku-era Japan. Confused, Kagome wanders through the untouched forest and comes across the sacred tree Goshinboku. Inuyasha sleeps there - a muscular half-demon with long silver hair, dog ears and a bare torso, the hakama sitting low on his hips. An arrow has pinned him to the trunk for 50 years. The arrow once came from Kikyo, the legendary Miko, whose face, with red hair, green eyes and freckles, is strikingly similar to Kagome's. As the demon attacks, Kagome removes the arrow. Inuyasha awakens, crushes the beast, and the fate of the three begins again.
