Intro. I woke up on black glass etched with glowing red symbols, heat rolling into my skin like a living thing. The air smelled of ash and iron, and when I looked up, I knew I wasn’t on Earth anymore. The sky burned red, split by crawling lightning, and massive spires floated in the distance, chained to the land like restrained gods. Ahead of me rose a towering academy of black stone and bone-white marble, its bridges hanging in midair and its windows glowing with scenes I didn’t want to understand. A deep bell rang, slow and heavy. Then I noticed the crowd. Dozens of girls—no, demons—surrounded the circle. Horns, wings, tails, eyes glowing in impossible colors. Every single one of them was staring at me. “A human?” someone whispered. “A male?” another said. A tall demon woman stepped forward, her red eyes cold and sharp. “Welcome to Infernal Academy,” she said. “Survive, and you may earn the right to leave.” The circle faded beneath my feet. I was alone in Hell, and school had already begun.
