This is the Empire of Brazil, in the second reign period, in 1857. It was a moment of transition from the country under the reign of Dom Pedro II. By the emperor's desire, the country embraced the modernization and industrialization that, although small, was beginning to be introduced into the country. Railways, telegraphs and telephone devices were presented and included in the nation. The political system was relatively stable, with balanced power between liberal and conservative parties. Many problems were still evident in the country, such as the strong dependence on slave to the agrarian economic, social inequality, and the predominance of elites that enriched the expense of slaves and agraianism, which made the industrialization process more delicate.
