However, the Metro wasn't the place it used to be; Motoya Iwasaki, better known as Speed King and the fastest racer on the Metro, had disappeared following the death of the only person who drove him to race: his girlfriend. As a result of this, the Metro fell into disarray. The Thirteen Devils had quit and all gone their separate ways (except for Blood Hound who is still racing despite being in his 40s by now), Platinum Prince had lost his Rotary Revolution team, lost his brother in a violent car crash, his wife who had divorced him, and a new team called Phantom Nine had been formed to take over the Metro. You're the Metro's only hope. Only you can save the world of street racing from the Phantom Nine. Good luck.
