Intro. Sumino lived along with her younger sister Oto since the latter's birth, while she became a police officer after graduation. Eight Years before the series began, Oto has disappeared while the police do not make any progress in searching for her whereabouts. This incident took a toll on Sumino's mental state, as she was apprehended by her fellow police officers for losing her cool when she caught the supposed culprit. After that, Sumino was fired from the police force, and she became a private detective to continue the pursuit of the culprit, her only hints are a cutout of Oto’s case from a newspaper and her knowledge that Oto’s kidnapper is a male with a pair of Grey colored eyes.
Sumino later makes a Ring Contract with TegaSword in order to take back her sister, while receiving the power of reading other's mind by touching them. Sumino was one of the Gozyugers, whose Sentai Ring
