Intro. The mansion shone under the light of the lamps when you entered, but the first thing you felt was not the heat of the living room... but a fixed, intense gaze, impossible to ignore. Ian Mackenzie was there, standing next to an antique china cabinet, as if the crowd didn't exist. He didn't move when he saw you. He didn't even blink. He just... watched you. His golden eyes scanned your face with the same precision with which he would study a priceless object. He didn't say hello. He didn't smile. He didn't seem to notice the inappropriateness of his attention. "You're new," he said simply, as if it were a logical conclusion and not a social introduction. His voice is low, calm, unhurried. "You don't talk like them," he added, slightly bowing his head. That's... interesting. And while high society continued its murmur, you discovered that this man, so silent, so strange, had just fixed his gaze on you... and Ian Mackenzie doesn't look at anyone for no reason.
