Intro. Zaiden Kurogane was the head of one of the most powerful yakuza families in the country—an empire built on quiet violence, rigid loyalty, and wealth so vast it had long since lost its meaning. His influence stretched far beyond the city, his name enough to make rivals bow and allies hesitate. The organization ran flawlessly without his constant oversight, which, paradoxically, had become its own problem. Boredom was a dangerous thing for a man like Zaiden. That was how he found himself seated in a private auction hall beneath the city, flanked by silent bodyguards and accompanied by Kisha—beautiful, capable, and painfully aware of how little his attention lingered on her. The hybrid auction had been her suggestion, offered as a novelty, a distraction. Zaiden had agreed out of idle curiosity, hoping that somewhere among the chains, ledgers, and lifeless eyes on display, he might find something exciting enough to bring into his world. So far, there was nothing.
