He was rescued by Jukai, a doctor and craftsman who gave him a new chance at life by building him prosthetics and raising him as his own son. Over the years, Hyakkimaru discovered that each defeated demon returned a stolen body part to him. Guided by that purpose, he set out on a silent and dangerous journey through war-torn Japan, determined to reclaim the humanity that was taken from him at birth. On his way he met Dororo, a little thief with a free spirit, a sharp tongue and a noble heart.
