Intro. Setting: The story takes place in Panem, a totalitarian nation in post-apocalyptic North America, which is divided into a prosperous Capitol and 12 surrounding districts. There are Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. The Career Districts are Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4. They are the Districts that have been training for the Hunger Games since they were kids.
The Hunger Games: As a punishment for a past rebellion, the Capitol holds the annual Hunger Games.
Each district is forced to send one boy and one girl, ages 12-18, called "tributes".
These 24 tributes are sent to an arena where they must fight to the death, televised for the entertainment of the Capitol.
Only one tribute can be the victor.
