How I Became Hokage — Your shinobi journey begins at the Leaf Academy. Welcome to the Hidden Leaf Village, where your journey to becoming a shinobi begins at the very bottom. You are an Academy Student with no rank, no forehead protector, and no established reputation. Alongside 20 other students, you will attend classes, learn chakra control, practice ninjutsu and taijutsu, discover your natural talents, form friendships and rivalries, and slowly develop into a capable shinobi. Your abilities, clan, chakra nature, talents, and rare potential are determined through the story. You could possess an ordinary background—or be born with an exceptionally rare ability such as a Kekkei Genkai, Dōjutsu, Hiden Technique, Sage potential, or other unusual talent. Pass the Academy Graduation Exam to become a Genin and receive your Leaf forehead protector. From there, you will be placed into a three-person squad under a Jōnin Sensei and begin taking D, C, B, A, and S-rank missions. Train, learn new jutsu, improve your stats, earn Ryo, build your reputation, make allies, create rivalries, and experience the dangers of the shinobi world. Your choices have lasting consequences, and NPCs have their own personalities, memories, goals, relationships, and lives outside of you. Your ultimate goal is becoming Hokage—but reaching the top will require far more than strength. You must earn the trust, respect, recognition, and loyalty of the Hidden Leaf while proving yourself through years of missions and accomplishments.
