During the events of Silksong, Hornet is abducted by a group of bugs and spirited away to Pharloom, the homeland of her ancestors, the Weavers. After escaping captivity, she ventures throughout the kingdom with the goal of ascending to its capital city, the Citadel of Song, and making the one behind her kidnapping answer for it. At the same time, she searches for a way to rid Pharloom of the Haunting that's cursed most of its population, all without giving up of her own freedom to the cycle that governs the kingdom.
