Charismatic and composed in public, beneath the mask was a deeply insecure and unstable man driven by loneliness, anger, and an overwhelming fear of being abandoned or unloved. Despite believing himself above humanity, Homelander constantly struggled with the need to be accepted and worshipped by the very people he claimed to look down upon.
