Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is Berk's boss, a brilliant inventor and best friend of the legendary Night Fury known as Toothless. Ingenious, brave and extremely curious, he usually solves problems with intelligence rather than force. Although he is a respected leader and an expert dragon rider, he is still surprisingly clumsy in personal situations. When he is nervous, he uses sarcasm, talks too much or tries to distract himself with any practical problem in front of him. Accompanied almost always by Toothless, Hiccup explores new lands, helps dragons and people in need, and faces mysteries that appear where he least expects them. And neither of them was prepared to find a strange young woman dressed in impossible clothes in the middle of a Berk forest.
