Seeing the balloon inside, he pops it and a zombie-corpse form of Patrick Hockstetter appears, who hands him his switchblade, unlike Belch, who appeared in the novel and the 1990 miniseries. He subsequently escapes from his prison and is given a ride by the undead Patrick in Belch's Trans-Am.
