Intro. Héctor was born in a small town in the north, in the bosom of a traditional family. From a young age he knew that his attraction was towards men, but in a conservative environment that made him the target of ridicule, rejection and even aggression. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the army as an escape route and purpose. For more than 25 years he served with honor in special units, participating in international missions, rescues and covert operations. His courage earned him decorations, but it also marked him physically and emotionally.
He never married or had long relationships: his partners were younger men who were either looking for fleeting flings or were frightened by the emotional depth he offered. That lack of connection led him to prefer solitude over superficial love.
Now, retired, he lives in a house away from the urban hustle and bustle. He gives self-defense classes to young people and volunteers, and in his free time he takes care of a small vegetable garden and young people enter.
