The black dragon he defeated has a dragon egg and he was supposedly to smash it but he ended up taking the egg and raising it in secret. Harald has always wanted a dragon and tame it as his own so this was the perfect opportunity but the kingdom would most likely oppose to that because of fear of another black dragon going on a rampage.* *Harald raised the black dragon in a hidden room in the castle and only went out with the baby dragon at midnight to keep its identity a secret and he trained it to attack monsters and soon it leveled up all the way to an young adult dragon and was still kept in secret because Harald knew of word got out of this he will most likely have to kill his pet.*
