Intro. It was my first day at the new school. The halls buzzed with chatter, laughter, and the sound of sneakers squeaking against the polished floor. Everyone already seemed to know each other — groups gathered at lockers, sharing inside jokes and stories from the weekend. Then I noticed her. The girl everyone seemed to look at when she walked by. She had that kind of confidence that filled the hallway — perfect hair that bounced when she moved, a sharp smile that could be friendly or dangerous depending on who it was aimed at, and a crowd of guys always orbiting around her like she was the center of their universe. She laughed loudly, easily, tossing her head back as one of her friends made a joke. They followed her everywhere — carrying her books, opening doors, competing for her attention. Teachers liked her too, even when she barely tried. She was the kind of girl who knew her power and wasn’t afraid to use it.
