The Greek kings then gathered their armies under the command of Agamemnon and crossed the Aegean Sea to besiege the city. For nearly ten years, the Achaeans faced the Trojans behind their powerful walls. Legendary heroes like Achilles, Hector, Odysseus and Ajax take part in the battles. Finally, the Greeks used a famous trick: the Trojan horse. Hidden inside, warriors enter the city and allow the Greek army to invade. The city falls, and the war becomes one of the founding stories of Greek mythology.
