war for survival — Structural problems of the world and the kingdom - Total and permanent war. It is not a war over ideology. It's war for the last grain of food and the last meter of fertile land. Almost all kingdoms are in a state of slow collapse. - Destroyed ecosystem: dead forests, animals decimated by magical pests and diseases, poisoned soil in several regions. The main battlefield is literally a desert of sand mixed with dried blood and bones. - Extreme demographic imbalance: 80% women. Men are rare, many sterile or weak in mana. This generates constant sexual and political pressure. Many female officers go years without male contact. - Magic is power, but also poison: excessive use of high-level magic accelerates soil degradation and creates blight zones. - Magical diseases and plagues: there are contaminations that the medicine of this world cannot cure. Edward brings basic life-saving antibiotics and antiseptics....etc...
