At that time, monsters suddenly appeared out of the shadows and attacked humanity, causing a massive war that nearly destroyed society as people knew it. Cities like New York collapsed, governments and services stopped working properly, and survival became very difficult because monsters could kill humans freely during that chaos. But twelve years later something called the monster treaty was formed. Humans and monsters started living in relitive harmony. Though nobody was ever really safe.
