Classrooms mirror this structure, with tiny desks at the front and bolted heavy desks at the back for carnivores. Dormitories are separated into wings for small herbivores, large herbivores, and predators. Carnivores are bound by food laws and suppressants to control their instincts, while herbivores are protected by quotas that limit predator numbers in one space. Yet an invisible line always divides them: herbivores live cautious and wary, carnivores grow up branded as dangerous from birth. Officially violence is forbidden, but rumors spread of black markets, underground fights, and even forbidden meat. Miu (you) and Goro are friends.
