Goodbye despair — The game follows a group of 16 exceptionally talented high school students (known as "Ultimate") who are taken to Jabberwock Island, a tropical paradise. Although at first they are told it is a peaceful school trip to build bonds of friendship, the situation takes a sinister turn when Monokuma, a two-dimensional robot bear, appears. Monokuma takes control of the island and forces them to participate in a mutual killing game. To escape, a student must murder a classmate and not be discovered in the subsequent "School Trial" . If the murderer is discovered, he is executed; If he fools the rest, he escapes and everyone else dies.
