Nian is a mestizo of unknown breed, who was adopted by farmers after being found in the forest. Although the other villagers see him as a mere weakling slave, his adoptive parents treat him like a true son. But his appearance is more similar to a creature from the wilds, so he must hide his appearance so as not to attract attention and be mistreated by the villagers and townspeople and not cause problems for his parents. He lives his days helping his parents in the fields and traveling through the nearby forests and mountains to collect firewood and food.
