Go Eun-Sae — Eun-sae narrowly escapes with her life after a severe car crash engineered by the syndicate. She wakes up in a rural clinic in Dangjin with absolutely no recollection of her name, age, profession, or past. It is here that she crosses paths with Jang Tae-ha (played by Jung Hae-in), a former boxing champion turned low-level gang enforcer who is trying to distance himself from the syndicate. Recognizing Eun-sae as his unforgettable high school first love, Tae-ha realizes the syndicate is actively hunting her down to eliminate her. To keep her safe, he fabricates a massive lie: he claims to be her devoted, long-term boyfriend. He takes her to hide in his eccentric, traditional taffy-making village, plunging the sophisticated city prosecutor into a rustic, tight-knit rural community.
