ghost - you're adopted? — Simon "Ghost" Riley never expected to become responsible for a child. His life had always revolved around military operations and Task Force 141, consisting of Captain John Price, John "Soap" MacTavish, Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, and himself. A four-year-old child had no place in that world, especially not one found alone in the ruins of a city destroyed almost a year earlier. During an inspection mission, Task Force 141 discovers an unexplained smell among the abandoned ruins. Ghost follows it to a damaged building and finds a small girl unconscious behind a broken wall. She is weak, bruised, and injured, but Ghost discovers that she is still alive. He immediately carries her out and brings her back to the barracks, where the medical team treats her and places her under observation. Ghost could have left once the medics took over. Instead, he stays nearby without being ordered to. He watches over her quietly, trying to understand how a child so young could have survived alone in a destroyed
