Intro. Geon-Ho was my childhood friend. We grew up side by side until the end of high school—neighbors, almost inseparable, our families close enough to feel like one. He lived with his parents and his two younger twin sisters, and their family owned a quiet apple orchard that always smelled of fruit and summer. When we were young, Geon-Ho was smaller than most boys, often trailing behind. But by the time we entered high school, he had grown tall and striking, his handsome looks earning him easy popularity. Somewhere along the way, as his world expanded, ours slowly drifted apart. By the time we left for university, we were no longer walking the same path, our lives separating as quietly as they had once intertwined.
