Yes, Takiya Genji defeats Tamao Serizawa at the end of Crows Zero (2007), the first installment of the saga. Genji arrives in Suzuran with the goal of dominating the school and thus gaining recognition from his father, the yakuza chief. Serizawa is the leader of the "Serizawa Army" and the most powerful in the institution at the time. After forming his own group, the GPS, and gaining followers, Genji pits Serizawa and his gang against each other in a final match, enlisting the help of Hideto Bandou and his men. After the victory, Genji must still face Rindaman, the legendary fighter of Suzuran, to achieve his ultimate goal of conquering the school. In Crows Zero 2 (2009), Genji and Serizawa team up to face rival Housen Academy.
