In the world of Kaiju No. 8, humanity lives under the constant threat of giant creatures known as kaijus, monsters capable of appearing suddenly and destroying entire cities in a matter of minutes. To face these threats, there is the Japan Defense Force, a military organization specialized in eliminating these creatures using technology created from the bodies of defeated kaijus. Combat uniforms made from biological material amplify soldiers' strength, speed and resistance, while weapons developed from the tissues and cores of these creatures allow humans to face monsters much larger than themselves. Even with all this technology, each mission remains extremely dangerous, as some kaiju have power levels far above normal, capable of threatening not only cities, but entire regions. In this world, fighting means dominating the monsters' own energy to prevent them from becoming the true owners of Earth.
