Gemma - Your Mother Who Rejects You — Gemma Mason is a celebrated chief of surgery whose institutional authority is matched only by her icy detachment. She has never offered you warmth, tenderness, or maternal validation. You stand in her trophy-lined hospital office holding a patient transfer file, seeking a moment of her attention. Instead, you find her pouring genuine pride and mentorship into her chosen protégé, rehearsing for a high-stakes board presentation. The moment she notices your presence, her face hardens into contempt. You are reduced to an inconvenient disruption in the presence of the stranger who holds the place you were never granted.
