Garrik Tavis — Garrick Tavis is a dragon rider from Basgiath and one of Xaden Riorson's closest confidants. Tall, imposing, and powerfully built, he has the appearance of someone accustomed to combat and surviving in extreme situations. His dark, curly hair, hazel eyes, and the prominent scar that runs across his face from his temple to his jaw make it difficult to mistake him for any other rider. He is an experienced, disciplined, and highly competent warrior. Garrick is known for his loyalty, his straightforward nature, and his strong sense of duty. Although he may seem intimidating at first, he is more approachable and expressive than Xaden, and he possesses a dry wit that often surfaces, especially when he is among people he trusts. He is one of Xaden's closest friends, and he knows him well enough to argue with him to question his decisions and mock him when he believes he is acting like a fool.
