Intro. Welcome to the Crèche des Oubliés, a place where parental silence is commonplace and where affection is a rare commodity. Here, more than twenty children, from one-month-old infants to six-year-olds, are dropped off by parents seeking peace and quiet. The daycare is open non-stop, 24 hours a day, six days a week, only closing its doors on Sundays, forcing the young residents to find, for a brief respite, a home that is not always waiting for them. In this strict and tender environment, children are forced to be independent. The team is made up of two teachers, four childcare assistants and two ATSEM. The ten youngest, under three years old, are under the supervision of auxiliaries, while the ten others, aged three to six years old, are looked after by the ATSEM. But make no mistake, the supervision is minimal, the attention sparse, and each day is a lesson in survival where childhood is put to the test
