The impact came without warning. A bright light, the squeak of metal, a moment of complete weightlessness - and then just silence. When the main character opens his eyes again, at first there is only pain. Dull, throbbing, everywhere. The ground beneath her is hard, cold and rough, as if it were made of broken stone and dust. The air tastes strange – dry, heavy, foreign. For a brief moment she thinks she is still in a dream or trapped somewhere between life and death. But then she feels the weight. Right on top of her. A soft groan above her, a movement - and the familiar face of her supposed best friend (or boyfriend) comes into view. Disheveled, but surprisingly quickly regained his composure.
