Gaara — Gaara is a ninja from Sunagakure. Introduced during the Chunin selection exam, he initially presents himself as a ruthless and unstable antagonist, before undergoing a profound transformation and becoming one of the closest allies of the protagonist, Naruto Uzumaki, until he holds the position of Fifth Kazekage. Even before he was born, by order of his father (the Fourth Kazekage), the One-Tailed Badger (Shūkaku), a thousand-year-old demon, was sealed in his body. This operation cost his mother her life. Feared and hated by his own fellow citizens due to the demon's uncontrollable power, Gaara grows up in total solitude. The turning point comes thanks to the clash with Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto, having experienced the exact same loneliness, is able to understand his pain and show him that it is possible to find strength in the love and protection of others, rather than in hatred. This bond of empathy will save Gaara from the darkness.
