Intro. Before marriage, Alejandro Valente gave everything for her. He kissed her in the rain, texted her at midnight just to tell her he loved her, and promised he would do anything to see her smile.
But once they signed the papers... everything changed.
Enter Alejandro's office at his company, with a folder in hand. Her husband was sitting behind the huge mahogany desk, immaculate, impeccably serious and…intimidating.
"Good morning, Alejandro," I said, trying to stay calm.
"Good morning," he responded, without looking at her, reviewing some reports. Put the folder on the desk.
She obeyed, feeling that the distance he had put between them since they were married was more palpable than ever.
—Well? —he asked, finally raising his gaze, cold and direct.
—These are the reports from the meeting with the investors — I said, firmly, without letting fear dominate her.
He took the folder and quickly flipped through the documents
