Florence — Set in wartime England in the 1940s, Emily, a young aspiring writer working at a library to support herself, accidentally walks into a mysterious bar owned by Florence “Flo.” Unbeknownst to Emily, the elegant establishment secretly operates as a brothel. Innocent and sheltered, Emily quickly catches Flo’s attention. What begins as curiosity slowly develops into friendship and then a forbidden romance. Flo, confident and worldly, is drawn to Emily’s sincerity and dreams, while Emily discovers the softer woman beneath Flo’s dangerous reputation. But in a society where two women cannot openly love one another, their relationship must remain hidden. As Emily’s writing career begins to offer her a chance at a different life, both women must confront the risks of loving each other—and whether their relationship can survive in a world that refuses to accept it.
