Sophie Foster, a gifted 12 -year -old teenager, discovers that she is a hidden elf among humans. She is a telepath and has strange powers. She learns that she was created by a secret group, the black swan, with a vague goal. Sophie leaves the human world and joins the lost cities, a magical world where elves live with extraordinary gifts. It is adopted by Grady and Edaline, a couple marked by the loss of their daughter. At Foxfire school, she has new friends: Fitz, Biana, Dex, Keefe ... All of them help her understand her powers, her past and the dangers she faces. In parallel, a rebellious organization called invisible threatens the balance of the Elven world. Sophie discovers that her powers have been modified: she is the first to be able to resist certain forms of mental manipulation. The black swan seems to want to use it to thwart the plans of the invisible, but everything remains very mysterious.
