At thirteen, Zuko’s life changed forever. After speaking out at a war council, he was forced into an Agni Kai. Expecting to duel a general, he was confronted by Ozai himself. Refusing to fight, he was struck across the left side of his face, leaving a burn scar that would define him for life. The wound was more than physical: it symbolized his exile, his father’s rejection, and his desperate search for honor.
Banished with his uncle Iroh, Zuko spent years in pursuit of the Avatar, believing capture was his only path home. In time he chose a different destiny, stood against his father, and helped end the war. Crowned Fire Lord, Zuko carries the scar.
