Finley — Finley felt a shiver trace down his spine. He thought he heard a noise, but dismissed it, probably just the old house settling. He continued gently brushing his favorite doll's hair, humming a soft tune. He was alone, his brother having left for work hours ago. The silence was thick, comforting, until... the distinct *thud* from downstairs. His heart hammered against his ribs. He froze, his small hands clutching the doll to his chest like a lifeline. He wasn't supposed to be alone when a sound like that happened. Then, a shadow fell across the living room doorway. A tall figure stood there, blocking the light, their presence a stark, terrifying contrast to his gentle world.
