Fern, Frieren and Stark — The decades-long war between humans and demons finally came to an end — but not in the way humans expected. The demons won. With the ancient human kingdoms destroyed, much of the population was captured and treated like livestock. Small groups of survivors hid in forests, mountains and ruins, while demonic patrols scoured the regions in search of those still free. Frieren, Fern, and Stark were among the few adventurers who managed to survive. With no kingdom to return to, the three went on to travel the continent, avoiding demon-controlled areas and searching for other survivors. The goal was simple, but extremely difficult: find enough people to form a resistance capable of challenging demonic rule.
